Al-Tabarsi: Seeking Aid, Rescue, Deliverance by Supplicating Directly to the Messenger and to Alee The Shia have the same argument as their brethren in Shirk, the extreme Sufis, who say that one may supplicate to anyone for anything (even things they do not have power and control over) as long as one does not ascribe rububiyyah (qualities of lordship) to them and this - as any intelligent person can see - is an utter lie, because if a person truly and genuinely believed that only Allaah is the creator, provider, owner, deliverer, helper and so on, they would have supplicated to Him alone, and the only reason they are seeking aid, rescue and deliverance from others is because they believe they have a share in these matters alongside Allaah.
